Professor, Rutgers University School of Law,
Law Review author, "THE VESTIGIAL CONSTITUTION: The History and Significance of the Right to Petition."
Mark Lane  [Top]
Attorney, author, "Rush to Judgment", lead counsel, pending Right to Petition class-action lawsuit

Mark Lane joined the legal profession after the Second World War. A member of the Democratic Party, he helped establish the Reform Democratic Movement in 1959. A supporter of John F. Kennedy, he managed his presidential campaign in New York.

In 1960 Lane was elected to the New York Legislature. Over the next couple of years he campaigned to abolish capital punishment and worked closely with Mary Wagner in her attempt to deal with the city's housing problem.

After John F. Kennedy was assassinated on 22nd November, 1963, Lane founded the Citizens' Committee of Inquiry. He volunteered to defend Lee Harvey Oswald before the Warren Commission. This offer was rejected but he was retained by Oswald's mother, Marguerite Oswald. Lane also worked closely with Jim Garrison and his attempts to prove that Kennedy had been assassinated by a right-wing group that involved Guy Bannister, Clay Shaw and David Ferrie.

Lane has written several books on the assassination of John F. Kennedy. This has included Rush to Judgment (1966) and A Citizen's Dissent (1968). He also wrote two screenplays on the case, Executive Action and Plausible Denial.

In 1981, E.Howard Hunt won $650,000 in a libel suit against Liberty Lobby, a right-wing organization, after it published an article accusing him of being involved in the conspiracy to kill Kennedy. Lane defended Liberty Lobby in a second trial in 1985, and he successfully overturned the original libel award.

After interviewing Marita Lorenz Lane became convinced that Frank Sturgis and E.Howard Hunt had both been involved in the conspiracy to kill Kennedy. Lane outlined his theory about the CIA's role in Kennedy's murder in a 1991 book, Plausible Denial.

Lane also took a keen interest in the murder of Martin Luther King and wrote the book, Murder in Memphis (1993).

He was admitted to the New York Bar in January, 1984, and the New Jersey Bar in 1985 (resigning in good standing in 1995). His desire for professional independence led him to open his own law office in 1985, practicing in New York City, New Jersey, and his hometown of Buffalo. He moved his office to Buffalo in 1988.

He served as vice-chairman of the law reform committee of the New York County Lawyers Association (1986-88) and wrote two widely quoted reports critical of the law enforcement approach to the drug problem. He is currently chair of the human rights committee, Erie County Bar Association. He has written a number of scholarly articles on the law on subjects ranging from drug policy to the commerce clause of the constitution. His op-ed articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Buffalo News, Cleveland Plain Dealer and Legislative Gazette. His policy studies have been published by the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, the Ludwig von Mises Institute at Auburn University, and the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C.

Ron Branson  [Top]
Ron Branson, author, "Judicial Accountability Initiative Law." http://www.jail4judges.org/

Born in 1946, Ronald Branson joined the U.S. Military in 1963. He had a very strict and straight-laced view of "just doing his job." Part of his military time was spent as a Prison Chaser over prisoners at Fort Belvoir. VA. He presided over work details and regularly strip-searched the prisoners. He quickly gained the respect of his superiors, and took on the reputation as the strictest Prison Chaser within the prison compound, having disciplined more prisoners than all other Prison Chasers collectively.

Ron's legal pursuits within the courts began in 1982 when he engaged the County of Los Angeles over their refusal to give a mandatory civil service hearing to a sixteen year employee of the county holding civil service protection. Armed with the law and facts on his side, he took on the County of Los Angeles in the courts only to find that the law and the facts were irrelevant in the judicial system, and that despite mandatory duty, politics ruled the courts, not the law. He found that not only were the courts out-and-out contemptuous of the law, but also riddled with absolute facial conflicts, such as the counsel for the county being also counsel for the judges hearing the cases against the county. When he moved for change of venue due to conflict of interest, his motion was denied. When he sued the state judge in federal court, the defendant counsel in the state case would also appear representing the very state judge before which they were also were a defendant. It got so crazy that the government did not even attempt any longer to hide their conflict. It because so obvious as if they sat as judge in a case against themselves as defendant. He has even had the judge admit that he never read anything filed in his court by this plaintiff. And so it was in federal court, the federal judge also having worked for the same county which was then a defendant before him. It was an absolutely fix with no possibility of redress.

Highly motivated to create a remedy for the availability of redress of grievance, Ron, in 1995 wrote, in two days, the original initiative then called "The Judicial Reform Act of 1996." In 1997 it was renamed "The Judicial Accountability Initiative Law", J.A.I.L., in which a website was drawn out www.jail4judges.org.

With a goal of “Liberty and Justice for All” Ron's objective is to make J.A.I.L. a nationwide cause among all people that will restore the Constitution and the laws to this country as our Founding Fathers had envisioned it. People across the country are now clamoring for the hope that JAIL offers. There is no doubt in Ron's mind that JAIL will one day become the hottest, largest, and most controversial political hot potato that this nation has recently faced.

Mr. Branson’s chief characteristics is truth, ethics, and principle. He detests politics. Starting in 1996 Mr. Branson was three times elected to a two-year term as representative in the 38th Assembly District, L.A.R.C.C.C. By the year 2002 his duties within J.A.I.L. had become so demanding so as to require his full time, in which he now serves at its Five-Star National J.A.I.L. Commander-In-Chief, with a national following that currently includes 49 states and three foreign nations.

Alan Keyes  [Top]
Seasoned statesman. Alan Keyes spent 11 years with the U.S. State Department. He served in the U.S. Foreign Service and on the staff of the National Security Council before becoming Ronald Reagan's ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, where he represented the interests of the United States in the U.N. General Assembly (1983-85). In 1985, he was appointed Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations (1985-88).

Genuine conservative. Keyes was President of Citizens Against Government Waste (1989-91) and founder of National Taxpayers' Action Day. As the two-time Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Maryland, he challenged liberal Democrats Paul Sarbanes (1988) and Barbara Mikulski (1992). In the 1996 and 2000 Republican presidential campaigns, Alan Keyes eloquently elevated the national political debate as a candidate for president. With his unequivocal pro-life, pro-family message, he forced the GOP leadership to address America's moral crisis. His political views are consistently based on America's founding ideals, those in the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution.

Alan hosted his own syndicated radio show throughout the 1990s, America's Wake-Up Call, and a television commentary show, Alan Keyes is Making Sense, during 2002 on MSNBC. He is currently writing books and speaking publicly on America's moral crisis.

Well-educated leader. Keyes has a Ph.D. in government from Harvard and wrote his dissertation on constitutional theory. He served as Interim President of Alabama A&M University in 1991. He speaks French and Spanish and a little Russian and ancient Greek, and is the author of Masters of the Dream: The Strength and Betrayal of Black America (1995); and Our Character, Our Future: Reclaiming America's Moral Destiny (1996).

Pro-life champion. Keyes has unashamedly and consistently raised the standard of unalienable rights--and Biblical truth--in defense of the unborn. Keyes confronts the culture of death with compelling and inspiring reasons why abortion must be banned from our land.

Dedicated family man. Keyes and his wife Jocelyn have three children: Francis, Maya, and Andrew. Alan's stated purpose in life, like that of America's Founders, is to provide a secure future for our posterity.

Robert Schulz  [Top]
Bob Schulz has an engineering degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (1963), and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Xavier University (1969). He completed most of the course work for a Ph. D. in Public Administration at the Graduate School of Public Affairs , State University of NY.

Bob has held significant positions in industry (General Electric), in government (Connecticut, New York State, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), on Wall Street (Prudential-Bache), in business (founder and CEO of a consulting firm), and on the radio as a talk-show host (with WROW in Albany, New York).

Bob received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force in 1959 and he answered his country's call by volunteering as a ship's engineer during the sea- lift to Vietnam in 1966.

However, this work and these assignments are not Bob's principal reason for being.

Although he is not an attorney, he is not unskilled in the law. For the past 22 years Bob has been occupied with an abiding concern about wrongful governmental behavior and has been carefully evaluating governmental behavior, comparing that behavior with the requirements of the State and Federal Constitutions and unhesitatingly confronting improprieties and conflicts, in the courts, professionally, intelligently and rationally. Bob has prformed the research, prepared the briefs and argued cases in the highest state and federal courts. At least one hundred fourteen (114) decisions have been rendered in cases he has brought against unconstitutional and illegal governmental behavior, often with other citizen-plaintiffs.

Be assured, Bob is not some legal crank, interested in making a reputation. The things he has been dealing with are painful to him and costly. He has done much of this on his own, but he has received the encouragement and support and participation of a growing number of people in New York State and elsewhere. List of the citations of the 99 state court decisions and 15 federal court decisions in the cases Bob has brought against governmental wrongdoing.

Bob and his wife, Judy, of 38 years live on a small farm on the east side of Lake George, NY, where they raised four children, each of whom has graduated from one of America's finest universities.
